In 1894, the citizens of Davisborough realized the community had grown so much and so fast they needed leadership
and organization. The only way this could be done with a certain group being able to represent the majority of the
residents was to file papers with the General Assembly of the state to become an incorporated town. Mr. Turner L. Brown was serving in the Legislature at that time., and with his help, Davisborough was incorporated and thename shortened to "Davisboro".
History will show that our ancestors have overcome much greater destruction, disaster and diversity than
any of us face today, yet working together as a community, the city has always overcome all odds to produce community growth. The history of Davisboro shows that it rests in the hands of our people
and our leaders. Today Davisboro, though small in size and population, still boasts several fine businesses such asCobb Seed Co., Brown's Trucking Co., Custom Milling Co., Green Fence Co., Tapley's Laundromat, Flowers & Things, Agrowstar,Minit-Mart, McNeely Garden Photography Studios, Angela's Trucking Co.The Davisboro Volunteer Fire Department is a great asset to the Davisboro community and Washington State Prison is also located within the city limits of Davisboro wherein lies a great opportunity for jobs. Davisboro-just a small rural farming community with a flair for southern hospitality and neighbor helping neighbor to keep Davisboro growing and going forward.
