We are located in East Central Georgia, halfway between Macon and Augusta, and halfway between Atlanta and Savannah. Splendid examples of Victorian, Greek Revival and Antebellum-influenced architecture are tangible reminders of our gracious lifestyle.

Created in 1784 by the state legislature, Washington County was the ninth county formed in Georgia and the first in the country to be named for Revolutionary War General, and later President, George Washington. We proudly celebrate each fall our claim as the Kaolin Capital of the World.

Please visit our agricultural tourism section for opportunities to hunt, fish or enjoy a day on the farm! Also, please view our newcomer's guide at buygeorgia.com.
